Apple

URGENT!

Apple is a long time sanctuary resident of our rescue. Apple, unfortunately, has been in the hospital with an unknown illness. She was running a high fever, had an enlarged spleen, was anemic and her white blood cells were way above normal. She was hospitalized for a couple of days while they ran tests and gave her fluids. This has put an enormous strain on our rescue. Can you please help by donating?

Where do your Donations Go

  • To rescue a dog from the animal shelter: $80
  • Taking that dog to veterinarian for Heart worm test: $55
  • Full examination at Veterinarian within two weeks of rescue: $140
  • Spay/Neuter of dogs that need it (80% on average.) Part of payment to Shelter goes toward, but doesn’t cover completely in most cases. The least expensive clinic that we use with charge well over $120 for spay/neuter. We used to use Stand For Animals, but they no longer take new patients.
  • This does not include food or transportation for adoption events

On the day of rescue we take all dogs to the veterinarian for the heart worm test. On that day we pay $135 for each dog.

Within two weeks, in most cases, the rescue is seen by our Veterinarian for a second time in which a full examination is done along with a fecal examination for a total cost of $140.

We charge $225 to adopt a dog, however we spend $275, approximately, within the first two weeks of the rescue and that doesn’t include food, transportation, time, part of the spay/neuter, the care if rescue has heart worms, and much more that a $$ figure can’t be placed on. On a personal note, in the three years we have been rescuing we have spent more than $30,000 of our own money, money well-spent.; however, we can’t continue to do this without financial support from people like you!
